Paul Hastings Represents Underwriters and Dealer-Managers in $200 Million Bond Offering and Cash Tender Offer for Financiera Independencia

New York, NY – Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm acted as counsel to the underwriters Barclays, HSBC and BCP Securities in the offering of $200 million of 7.500% 5 year bonds by Financiera Independencia (Findep), one of the largest microfinance lenders to individuals in Mexico. Approximately $170 million of the net proceeds of the offering is being used to fund the cash tender offer for Findep’s outstanding 10.0% bonds due 2015. Paul Hastings also acted as counsel to Barclays, HSBC and BCP Securities as dealer managers in the tender offer.
