Overview

Joanne Joseph is an associate in the Litigation practice and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Joseph’s practice focuses on helping clients address the challenges involved with government enforcement initiatives, including investigations brought under the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and international anti-corruption and anti-bribery law. She advises clients on complex compliance matters, including in relation to anti-bribery topics, human rights issues, as well as ESG matters, more generally. Ms. Joseph also helps clients with the design, enhancement, and implementation of their compliance and human rights programs. She has worked on several corporate monitorships, including helping clients to strengthen their anti-corruption compliance programs to satisfy the terms of settlements with enforcement agencies.

Ms. Joseph received her law degree from Cornell Law School, where she was the recipient of the Morris P. Glushien Prize for the best student note concerning current social problems and the John J. Kelly, Jr. Memorial Prize for exemplifying scholarship, fair play, and good humor. During law school, she served as Acquisitions Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and as an Honors Fellow for the Lawyering (Legal Research and Writing) program. She also participated in the Capital Punishment Clinic, the International Human Rights Clinic, and the Global Gender Justice Clinic. She earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Adelphi University, where she graduated summa cum laude
