Paul Hastings Adds Premier International Arbitration Team in Paris from Band 1 Practice

Further enhancing its global arbitration and complex litigation capabilities, Paul Hastings LLP today announced the addition of premier international arbitration partners Elizabeth Oger-Gross and Tolu Obamuroh in Paris.
Joining from White & Case’s Band 1-ranked International Arbitration practice, Oger-Gross and Obamuroh are recognized for their extensive experience advising clients on complex international commercial and investment disputes. They counsel sovereign states and corporate entities across a broad range of sectors, with particular strength in the energy, infrastructure, and construction industries.

For more than two decades, Chambers-ranked Oger-Gross has acted as a leading adviser for a broad portfolio of clients in high-profile, large-scale international arbitration and litigation matters across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Recent examples include advising an African State in two ICC arbitrations resulting from a multibillion-dollar hydropower project, an African State-owned entity in an ICC arbitration regarding an investment in the water sector, and energy corporations in major international disputes, including, among other things, in connection with long-term gas supply contracts. Oger-Gross acts in both English and French-language arbitrations and also sits as arbitrator.
Obamuroh advises at the forefront of the intersection between African markets and the international legal market. With a strong range of work for global clients, Obamuroh’s experience includes advising African States on matters such as two ICC and two ICSID arbitrations relating to a major construction project and in the energy and mining sectors, respectively.
The duo’s arrival follows a series of strategic lateral hires in the firm’s top-ranked Paris office, including a 13-strong team led by preeminent litigators Antonin Lévy, Ophélia Claude and Joris Monin de Flaugergues, as well as energy and infrastructure partners Xavier Petet and Benoît Thirion. Oger-Gross and Obamuroh are the latest prominent additions to an elite Paul Hastings Litigation Department that has expanded with nearly 50 top-tier partner hires across practice areas globally over the past four years, and their joining follows the recent launch of Paul Hastings’ enhanced Brussels platform with leading antitrust lawyer Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte.
