Refinancing shows success at El Dorado International Airport

May 18, 2015

New York – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it represented Sociedad Concesionaria Operadora Aeroportuaria Internacional S.A. – OPAIN S.A., the concessionaire of the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia, in the financing of its outstanding debt (taken out in 2013 with Interamerican Development Bank, China Development Bank and Corporación Andina de Fomento) with a club of commercial banks consisting of HSBC, SMBC, BNPP and Bancolombia, in the total amount of $500 million.

The refinancing for the deal consists of a Dollar tranche and a Peso tranche, including financing for certain additional works and significantly improved terms to the concessionaire, a sign of Opain’s successful operations and optimistic forecasts for the El Dorado Airport, one of the busiest in South America.
Paul Hastings Corporate partner and Project Finance Chair Robert Kartheiser and associates Yana Lantsberg and Maria Leonor Tobia in New York represented Opain in the deal.
