Paul Hastings, Sherrese Smith Shortlisted for 2020 Chambers USA Diversity & Inclusion Awards

July 24, 2020

Chambers and Partners have shortlisted Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, and partner Sherrese Smith for its upcoming 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Awards. The awards recognize firms and individuals who are advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
The firm was shortlisted for “Inclusive Firm of the Year,” which celebrates a firm’s commitment to increasing the opportunities for, and representation of lawyers that identify with one or more strand of diversity. Paul Hastings has demonstrated this through its National Black “PHAN” (Paul Hastings’ Affinity Network) efforts, professional development and mentorship initiatives aimed at developing diverse talent, as well as community service and pro bono initiatives focused on fostering a culture of inclusion.

Ms. Smith, a partner in the Media, Technology, and Telecommunications practice and Vice-Chair of the firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice, is a finalist for “Diversity & Inclusion Lawyer of the Year.” She is recognized for her work with the Black PHAN as well as other firm affinity networks, and spearheading a variety of initiatives and programs focused on inclusivity for diverse lawyers and professional staff.

The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony in September.
