January 14, 2009

New York, New York (January 14, 2009) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced today it has been recognized as a 2008 Diversity Leader by the Law Department of Sodexo Inc., a leading foodservice and facilities management company with an objective to integrate diversity and inclusion into all aspects of its business approach.  Paul Hastings is one of four law firms to earn this first annual distinction from Sodexo.

The Diversity Leader recognition is part of the Sodexo Law Department Outside Counsel Diversity Initiative, which exemplifies the Sodexo legal teams commitment to advocate strongly for the increased usage of minority and women-owned firms and the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of diverse counsel within all other law firms that serve Sodexo.

The firm is committed to building a diverse team and work environment distinguished by opportunity, teamwork and professional development. Success at Paul Hastings is built upon a core belief in teamwork and, to that end, the firm recruits, retains, and develops the best and brightest candidates who will become active contributors to the firm's mission.

Coming from a client with a long-standing and demonstrated commitment to diversity, this is very high honor, said Jeffrey Wohl, a Paul Hastings partner who represents Sodexo on employment law matters.  We are pleased to receive this recognition as it reflects our commitment to attracting and advancing the best legal talent while actively contributing to the diversity success of our clients.

Anton Mack, Managing Director, Diversity and Global Talent for Paul Hastings, added, We are recognized among the nations top law firms for our ethnic, gender and GLBT diversity with more than 35% of our firm management and leaders from diverse backgrounds.  Our goal is to set new standards as a diversity leader in the legal profession.
Diversity and inclusion at Sodexo is a critical component of our business strategy, said Sodexo General Counsel Robert Stern. Weve structured our unique Outside Counsel Diversity Initiative to focus on growing our business with those law firms that best reflect Sodexos values, including with respect to diversity and inclusion.

Paul Hastings was chosen as a Diversity Leader based on the firms expansive diversity policies and programs, which include significant recruitment and retention efforts, and its employment of a diverse professional legal staff.
