Paul Hastings Grows in California with Leading Entertainment Litigator

Century City, CA — Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Steven Marenberg, a top media and entertainment litigator, has joined the firm as partner and Chair of its Entertainment and Media Litigation Group.  He will be joined by Josh Gordon, who joins as of counsel. Marenberg and Gordon will be based in the firm’s Century City office.

Marenberg represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation, with a particular concentration in the areas of entertainment, antitrust, intellectual property and complex business litigation.  He has a strong track record of representing studios, networks, production companies, digital media companies and talent agencies in the entertainment space.  His clients include Warner Bros., HBO, the Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal Media, and Legendary Entertainment, among others.  Currently, Marenberg represents United Talent Agency in the high-profile dispute between the major talent agencies and the Writers Guild of America concerning UTA’s and the other agencies’ “packaging” business practices.  Among other recognitions, Mr. Marenberg , is ranked in Band 1 for Media & Entertainment:  Litigation – California by Chambers and has been recognized as an industry-leading litigator in Variety’s Impact list and has been named in The Hollywood Reporter’s Power Lawyers list every year since its inception. Marenberg brings significant expertise in an array of sophisticated disputes including profit participation, antitrust and business tort matters, class actions, and trade secrets.
Josh Gordon

Gordon counsels both individuals and corporations in a variety of intellectual property and other commercial disputes. His practice spans various industries, including media & entertainment, technology and life sciences. He has experience in both state and federal court, as well as in mediations, arbitrations and before a federal administrative commission. Gordon and his colleagues have secured key rulings on motion practice and appellate review, arbitration victories, multimillion-dollar settlements and the release of all claims against their clients prior to and after trial.

Marenberg and Gordon join on the heels of Christopher Austin, a preeminent capital markets and Fintech lawyer, Christopher Austin, who joined Paul Hastings in New York, and the recent addition of bi-coastal Finance and Restructuring partner duo, Justin Rawlins and Phil Ratner, who joined in Los Angeles and New York, respectively.
