Paul Hastings Appoints Senior U.S. Capital Markets Lawyer To Strengthen Its Equity And High-Yield Debt Practice In Asia

Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker (Paul Hastings) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Hutton as of counsel in the firms capital markets group, based in Hong Kong. Joining a regional team of approximately 110 corporate lawyers in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo, Mr. Hutton brings to Paul Hastings over 10 years of transactional experience in capital markets and corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and United States law cross-border commercial transactions in the U.S. and Asia. Mr. Hutton has represented both underwriters and issuers in debt and equity offerings, including high-yield, convertible and straight corporate debt offerings, initial public offerings, secondary and follow-on offerings and listings of American Depositary Receipts and Global Depositary Receipts in SEC registered transactions, Rule 144A and Regulation S offerings. His clients include major investment banks, public company issuers and other multi-national corporations and funds. He also has represented a variety of Hong Kong, Japanese, Singaporean and Indian private issuers, as well as emerging and growth ventures, in financing and general commercial matters. For the past six years, Mr. Hutton practiced at Latham & Watkins in Singapore and Hong Kong. Previously, he served for three years as the general counsel of Sunterra Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed California-based resort development company, where he played a leading role in both U.S. and international transactions. Mr. Hutton is a member of the State Bar of California. He received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and his B.A. degree, cum laude, in Russian Literature and his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
