Paul Hastings and Project Hope to Build the Paul Hastings Hope Elementary School in Jing'an County, China

Shanghai (April 30, 2007) -- Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced its partnership with Project Hope, the leading foundation working to eliminate educational disparity in the poorer parts of China, to build an elementary school in Longqiu village in Jing'an county, Jiangxi province in China. The school will serve 300 students from 5 villages in the county with modernized classroom facilities and will be named the Paul Hastings Hope Elementary School.

Paul Hastings will provide fiscal and physical support to the construction of the school. Volunteers from Paul Hastings' Shanghai office will assist in light construction work and donate furniture and office equipment to the school. Upon completion, Paul Hastings will continue to fund the education of the children enrolled. The construction of the school is expected to be completed before the end of this year. Paul Hastings' Shanghai Office Chair, Mitch Dudek, will be appointed as the honorary principal of the school.

Project Hope Shanghai's chairman, Mr Wu Renjie said, "We are delighted that Paul Hastings has committed their support to the construction of this elementary school. The completion of this school will not only benefit the students of the village where it is located but will also benefit 300 students who live in four villages nearby in the mountainous region of Jing'an county and by providing a new campus for these students and teachers who live far away."
Seth Zachary, Paul Hastings' Global Chairman commented, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to support Project Hope. We have a long history in the region and are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work as well as the education of children. The new Paul Hastings Hope Elementary School is further evidence of our long standing commitment to the region as a corporate citizen and we look forward to continuing the development and progress of the Paul Hastings Hope Elementary School during and after the school has been built."
