Paul Hastings Advises Barneys New York in a Return to Downtown Manhattan with a Flagship Store in a Historic Chelsea Location

New York, NY – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm advised Barneys New York, the luxury specialty retailer, in a lease agreement that will allow the company to return to its downtown roots on 7th Avenue between 17th Street and 16th Street with a significant flagship slated to open within 2017. Barneys’ original presence in the Chelsea neighborhood spanned 90 years. The new Barneys New York flagship will occupy a major portion of its former historic store. The downtown flagship will consist of five floors totaling close to 57,000 square feet.

Barneys will continue to operate its Madison Avenue flagship, the largest store for the company that has locations across the city, including the Upper West Side, Soho, and Brooklyn.
