Bregal Sells Gabo Systemtechnik to Aptiv

November 20, 2019

Frankfurt — Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it has advised funds managed by Bregal Unternehmerkapital on their sale of gabo Systemtechnik GmbH (gabocom), a leading provider of highly-engineered cable management and protection solutions for the telecommunications industry. The purchaser is Aptiv, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, a New York stock exchange-listed global technology company that develops safer, greener and more connected solutions enabling the future of mobility. With approximately $100 million in revenue, gabocom further builds upon Aptiv’s cable management portfolio.

Upon completion of the transaction, gabocom will become a part of HellermannTyton, a business unit of Aptiv’s Signal and Power Solutions segment.

The transaction has a volume of approximately $310 million and has already closed.

The Paul Hastings team advising Bregal was led by private equity and M&A partner Christopher Wolff, with PE/M&A partner Christian Mock, finance partner Fritz Kleweta, tax consultant Uwe Halbig, and PE/M&A associates Christian Müller and Jan Hüniken.
