EIG Global Energy Partners Sells Minority Stake in Transportadora Brasileira Gasduto

January 05, 2021

London and São Paulo – Paul Hastings, the global law firm, today announces it has advised EIG Global Energy Partners, a leading institutional investor to the global energy sector, on its agreement with Fluxys, the Belgian gas infrastructure group, for the sale of a 27.5% stake in Transportadora Brasileira Gasduto Bolívia-Brasil S.A. (TBG).

TBG owns and operates the Brazilian section of the Bolívia-Brasil pipeline (GASBOL). The segment of GASBOL operated by TBG spans approximately 2,600 km in South East Brazil and transports natural gas from Bolivia and Brazil’s offshore pre-Salt fields to key markets in South Eastern Brazil.

The deal shows further growth in the Energy and Infrastructure practice at Paul Hastings, demonstrating cross border collaboration within the firm between the London and São Paulo teams, as well as external work with Brazilian counsel.

The Paul Hastings team was led by Jonathan Kellner, São Paulo based M&A partner, and Steven Bryan, Partner in the Energy and Infrastructure practice at the firm’s London office, as well as São Paulo-based Of Counsel, Andrea Campos, and London-based Senior Associate, Tamsin Doran.
