The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is hosting a virtual workshop on April 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time, titled “Operational Risk: Navigating Rapid Changes.” The workshop will be led by experienced OCC examiners and is designed for directors of national community banks and federal savings associations.

SBA Administrator Guzman Announces Application Opening for $28.6 Billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman announced the SBA will begin registration on April 30, 2021, at 9 a.m. Eastern time and will subsequently open applications on May 3, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.

Federal Housing Finance Agency

FHFA House Price Index Up 0.9% in February 2021 and Up 12.2% from Last Year

The Federal Housing Finance Agency issued a news release that states that house prices rose nationwide in February 2021, up 0.9% from the previous month. House prices rose 12.2% from February 2020 to February 2021. The previously reported 1% price change for January 2021 remained unchanged.

Fannie Mae Forgoes Issuing Benchmark Notes on April 27, 2021 Announcement Date

Fannie Mae announced that it will not utilize its April 27, 2021 Benchmark Notes announcement date this month. Fannie Mae may forgo any scheduled Benchmark Notes issuance.

US Department of Labor Announces $3.5M Funding Opportunity to Place More Women in Registered Apprenticeships and Nontraditional Occupations

The U.S. Department of Labor announced a funding opportunity of $3.5 million for up to 10 grants to increase and retain the number of women in quality Registered Apprenticeship Programs and nontraditional occupations such as those in the manufacturing, infrastructure, cybersecurity and healthcare industries.

EEOC Announces Opening of 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced that the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection is now open, after delaying the opening of the 2019 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection on May 8, 2020 in light of COVID-19. The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit demographic workforce data, including data by race/ethnicity, sex and job categories. This year, the annual filing deadline for both the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 report(s) is July 19, 2021.

The New York State Department of Financial Services (“Department”) released a report on the Department’s investigation of the New York’s financial services industry’s response to the supply chain attack of the information technology (“IT”) company SolarWinds (“SolarWinds Attack”). During the SolarWinds Attack, hackers corrupted routine software updates that were downloaded onto thousands of organizations’ information systems.
