Overview

Bill Schwab is chair of Paul Hastings' Boston office and a partner in the firm's Private Equity practice.

Bill focuses his practice on advising leading private equity and private credit funds and their portfolio companies in connection with structured preferred and growth equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, co-investments, and secondary transactions. Bill regularly represents searchers, search fund investors, and search fund companies, advising on fundraising, acquisition, company operations, and exit strategies. Bill also provides outside general counsel to early-stage and mature private companies.

Bill’s representative clients include Goldman Sachs, Great Hill Partners, Sixth Street Partners, Everberg Capital Partners, Ares Management, Luxor Capital Group, Liberty Mutual Investments, Monroe Capital, Arches Medical Partners, Thayer Street Partners and M/C Partners, among others. Bill is also general outside counsel to a number of private companies, including CustomInk, Connectivity Wireless, Bombas, Locus Robotics, QMC Telecom International and Second Nature.

  • Housatonic Partners’ growth investment in Key Media, a multinational B2B media business.

  • Connectivity Wireless’ acquisition of wireless infrastructure manager Simplifi Wireless.
  • Luxor Capital’s growth equity and debt investments in multiple U.S., LatAm and European internet and social media businesses.
  • Thayer Street Partners in multiple secondary investments in private media and technology companies.
  • U.S.-based venture fund in connection with its investment in Flixbus.
